Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Tailflip is a free web-based event coordination tool at tailflip.com. We help small groups find a date that works for everyone — no accounts, no downloads required. We are operated by an independent developer based in the United States.

2. What we collect and why

As an event organizer

• Event name — used to label your event and display it to invitees.
• Date preferences — the dates you select, stored to generate your shareable link.
• Email or phone (optional) — stored so you can be contacted about your event. We do not send automated messages at this time.

As a respondent

• Name — required. Displayed to the event organizer.
• Email or phone — optional. Visible to the event organizer so they can contact you directly. We do not send automated messages at this time.
• Date availability — the dates you select, shared with the organizer and shown in aggregate.

Collected automatically

• IP address — collected in server logs for security and rate-limiting. Logs are retained for up to 30 days then deleted.
• LocalStorage — we store event data in your browser so your events appear when you return. This data lives only on your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser's site data settings.

What we do NOT collect

We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or behavioral profiling. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

3. How we use your information

We use your data only to operate the service: displaying your event to invitees, showing the organizer who responded, and rate-limiting abusive requests. We will not use your data for any other purpose without fresh consent.

4. Who we share data with

Event organizers — your name, date availability, and contact info (if provided) are visible to the person who created the event. This is the core purpose of the service.

Other event participants — when you view or respond to an event, limited information about the event is visible to you: the organizer's display name, the event title, the proposed dates, and any note the organizer has added. If you upload photos or other content to an event, that content may be viewable by other participants in the same event.

Infrastructure providers — we host on Render (US-based). No other sharing.

5. Data retention

Plan and response data is retained indefinitely so organizers can return to view results. You may request deletion by emailing privacy@tailflip.com — we will delete your record within 7 business days. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Event URLs use unguessable random tokens. We do not store passwords (there are no accounts).

7. Children's privacy

Tailflip is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our service, contact us at privacy@tailflip.com.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to our processing. Email privacy@tailflip.com to exercise any of these rights.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use after a policy update constitutes acceptance.
