Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Tailflip — including creating an event, responding to one, or visiting tailflip.com — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use Tailflip.

2. What Tailflip is

Tailflip is a free, no-account web tool that helps small groups find a mutual date for a gathering. An organizer picks available dates and shares a link. Respondents check their availability. The organizer sees who can make which date. That's it.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Submit false, misleading, or impersonating information.
  • Spam, harass, or contact people without their consent.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
  • Use respondent contact information for any purpose other than coordinating the specific event they responded to.

4. Privacy and contact data

Respondents may provide their email address or phone number voluntarily. By submitting this information, they consent to it being visible to the event organizer for the purpose of coordinating that specific event only — not for mailing lists, unrelated marketing, or sharing with third parties. As an organizer, you agree to use respondent contact data only for that event.

5. No account, no guarantee of access

Tailflip requires no account. Event data is accessed via secret URL tokens. You are responsible for keeping your organizer URL private. Anyone with the organizer URL can view all responses. We do not guarantee that event data will be available indefinitely and may suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

6. User-generated content

You retain ownership of any content you submit — including event names, notes, photos, and other media ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Tailflip a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate and improve the service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your User Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit. We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove User Content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

The Tailflip name, logo, and visual design are our property.

7. Subscription tiers and access to content

Tailflip may offer free and paid subscription plans. Access to certain content associated with an event — including photos and event history — may be limited based on your subscription level or the age of the event. For example, photos may become inaccessible after 90 days on a free plan, and event details for invitations older than 12 months may require a paid plan to view. We will provide reasonable notice before restricting access to previously available content.

8. Copyright infringement (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on Tailflip infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent containing the following:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on our service.
  • Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Send DMCA notices to: legal@tailflip.com (subject line: "DMCA Notice"). We will respond to valid notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that data will be retained indefinitely. Use of the service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tailflip and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $10.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tailflip and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of respondent contact data.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted at tailflip.com/terms with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
